SWIM LESSONS
WHICH SESSION SHOULD YOUR CHILD BE ATTENDING?
~LESSON DETAILS~


SENIOR WATER AEROBICS: Core aerobic exercises combined with stretching, toning and strengthening.

*GUPPIE: (Average age: 3-5 YRS)
Learn how to blow bubbles, float with no help, jump in, learn how to breast paddle, tread water for 30 seconds, swim half length of pool & become comfortable dunking under water.

*FLIPPER: (Average age: 5-7 YRS)
Learn the breast stroke, the crawl, swim under water a quarter length of pool, swim two laps in pool non stop: a breast stroke, a crawl, tread water for 1 minute, retrieve 3 dive sticks from shallow end of the pool.

*SEALS: (Average age: 7-9 YRS)
Learn the breast stroke, learn deep water stride entry, learn the crawl with face submerged in water, learn to breast stroke with face submerged in water, swim half a lap under water. Swim 4 laps non-stop: 2 crawl and 2 breast.

*DOLPHINS: (Average age: 9-10 YRS)
Learn the helicopter swim, underwater lap turn, blow nose are underwater, swim 3 quarters length lap under water. DIVING TECHNIQUES: foot dive, surface dive, deep dive, swim 6 laps non-stop: 2 crawl, 2 breast, 1 crawl, 1 breast, retrieve 2 lb. weight from deep end of pool.

SHARKS: (Average age: 11-12 YRS)
Learn the frog swim, the butterfly swim, denim life float, basic life-guarding techniques: surveillance, active drowning victim, passive drowning victim, the rescue tube, entries: stride jump, compact jump extension rescue, active victim rear rescue, passive victim rear rescue, submerged victim rescue, rescue escapes, multi victim rescue.

To participate at this level the swimmer must be able to swim 10 laps non stop: 4 crawl, 4 breast stroke, and 2 frog swims. They must also be able to swim 3 quarters of a lap under water (swim one lap under water and receive a medal!) must also retrieve a 2 lb. weight from the deep end.

POOL RULES

• NO RUNNING, PUSHING, OR SHOVING ON THE POOL DECK (NO HORESEPLAY OF ANY KIND IN OR AROUND THE POOL).

• NO SHORTS WITH STRINGS HANGING OFF.

• NO GUM CHEWING

• NO BAND-AIDS

• NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE POOL AREA

• THE POOL IS CLOSED ON SUNDAYS

• THE POOL IS CLOSED IN POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS

• SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK

• NO LIFEGUARD = NO SWIMMING!
